Before You Click Approve: Key Considerations in Aligner Case Planning
with Dr. Praveen Gill
Approving an aligner setup is one of the most important decisions in treatment planning, and one of the easiest places for avoidable errors to begin.
A digital setup can look convincing on screen, but that does not always mean it will track predictably in the mouth. In this session, Dr Praveen Gill will walk through the key decisions clinicians need to make before approving an aligner treatment plan, helping you assess setups with a more critical clinical eye and identify unrealistic or high-risk tooth movements before they become problems in treatment.
You will also learn how to avoid common planning errors that can lead to poor tracking, compromised outcomes, and unnecessary refinements. Through clinical examples, Dr Praveen will explore key staging considerations, effective communication with CAD-CAM technicians, and a structured pre-approval checklist you can apply to future cases.
If you are currently approving aligner setups without a consistent review process, this masterclass will give you a clearer framework for treatment planning, improve the predictability of your cases, and build greater confidence in managing aligner treatment from the very beginning.

Early in my aligner experience, I approved a case that looked perfect on the digital setup but I was honestly unsure what to look for before clicking “approve.” I missed several key details, including movement staging and control of high-risk tooth movements. By mid-treatment, the case stopped tracking. That experience led me to create a structured pre-approval checklist, which I’m sharing so clinicians can approach every case systematically and avoid missing critical points.

Anterior Composite: Shape, Polish & Light - Practical Strategies for Predictable Aesthetic Success
with Dr. Sam Cope
Anterior composites rarely fail because of the material. They fail because of shape and light.
Small errors in line angles, contour and surface texture can make restorations look dull or artificial, even when shade and bonding are correct.
In this masterclass, Dr Sam Cope will share a practical framework for controlling shape, polish and light reflection to create natural, predictable anterior composites across different systems.
Clear principles. Repeatable decisions. More consistent aesthetic results.
By the end of this masterclass, you will be able to:
-
Identify why anterior composites look dull or unnatural
-
Control light reflection through shape and surface design
-
Improve polish and finishing for long-term aesthetics
-
Achieve faster, more consistent outcomes

“Early in my career, I believed aesthetic success came from using the ‘right’ composite or layering technique. Yet despite good bonding and accurate shade selection, some restorations still looked dull or unnatural. The turning point came when I shifted my focus from materials to shape, surface texture and light interaction. By simplifying my approach and understanding why restorations looked wrong, my results became far more predictable and efficient. This lecture reflects those lessons from practice and teaching.”
