Your Patient Can’t Afford Ceramic? The Composite Comeback from Black Triangles to Rehabs
with Dr Sam Cope
Composite is not just the backup plan when ceramic is out of reach.
Join Dr Sam Cope for a free masterclass on how to use composite as a predictable, high-value treatment option across real-world aesthetic cases, from black triangles and diastema closure to Class IV restorations and anterior composite rehabs. Learn practical workflows for case selection, occlusion, layering versus injection techniques, and natural finishing protocols you can apply immediately in practice.
By the end of this masterclass, you will understand how to:
Reframe composite as a predictable treatment option, not a compromise
Identify when composite is suitable for aesthetic restorative cases
Manage cases ranging from black triangles and diastema closure to Class IV restorations and anterior composite rehabs
Improve case selection for composite treatment
Apply key occlusal considerations when planning composite restorations
Understand when to use layering versus injection techniques
Achieve natural aesthetics with efficient finishing and polishing protocols
Build a repeatable workflow for durable, aesthetic composite outcomes
Increase case acceptance by offering patients more accessible treatment options

“When I first started out, I saw composite as a temporary solution. Something you used when a patient couldn’t afford ceramic.
I remember doing a few early cases where the results were okay, but they did not have that wow factor. I found myself thinking ceramic was the only way to achieve a truly aesthetic outcome.
That changed when I treated a patient who desperately wanted to improve her smile but simply could not stretch to veneers. I committed to doing the absolute best composite I could, focusing on shape, line angles, and polish rather than just filling space.
When she saw the result, she got emotional. That was the moment I realised composite is not a compromise. It is a different skillset.”

Anterior Composite: Shape, Polish & Light - Practical Strategies for Predictable Aesthetic Success
with Dr. Sam Cope
Anterior composites rarely fail because of the material. They fail because of shape and light.
Small errors in line angles, contour and surface texture can make restorations look dull or artificial, even when shade and bonding are correct.
In this masterclass, Dr Sam Cope will share a practical framework for controlling shape, polish and light reflection to create natural, predictable anterior composites across different systems.
Clear principles. Repeatable decisions. More consistent aesthetic results.
By the end of this masterclass, you will be able to:
-
Identify why anterior composites look dull or unnatural
-
Control light reflection through shape and surface design
-
Improve polish and finishing for long-term aesthetics
-
Achieve faster, more consistent outcomes

“Early in my career, I believed aesthetic success came from using the ‘right’ composite or layering technique. Yet despite good bonding and accurate shade selection, some restorations still looked dull or unnatural. The turning point came when I shifted my focus from materials to shape, surface texture and light interaction. By simplifying my approach and understanding why restorations looked wrong, my results became far more predictable and efficient. This lecture reflects those lessons from practice and teaching.”
