When I first started out, I saw composite as a temporary solution. Something you used when a patient couldn’t afford ceramic.
I remember doing a few early cases where the results were okay, but they did not have that wow factor. I found myself thinking ceramic was the only way to achieve a truly aesthetic outcome.
That changed when I treated a patient who desperately wanted to improve her smile but simply could not stretch to veneers. I committed to doing the absolute best composite I could, focusing on shape, line angles, and polish rather than just filling space.
When she saw the result, she got emotional. That was the moment I realised composite is not a compromise. It is a different skillset.
