When I first graduated I had no idea how to plan a treatment plan. I would endless talk to the patient about all the options that were available to them including all the pros and cons of every treatment as if I was answering an oral exam back in dental school. I left most of my patients confused and confused patients either don’t make decisions or they take the easiest or cheapest option.
It didn't get any better when I learnt how to do more complex dental work. I was just confusing the patient more with even more choices and options.
It wasn't until I realised that I was the doctor in the room and that I needed to filter out the patients options through my own experience, their goals and constraints as well as what was the best possible option for them that I started to see treatment planning in a whole different light.

Dr Michael Frazis
Michael, who is the Head of Education at RipeGlobal, enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with a particular interest in cosmetic work, complex surgery and nervous patients.
He spent the first few years of his career focusing on patient communication and expanding his basic skill set.
He aims to help people globally increase their personal and clinical confidence through dentistry.
Dr Frazis is an international speaker who has spoken in multiple countries, both in-person and in a virtual setting. He is the lead educator of the Fellowship in Restorative Dentistry and the director of Education for RipeGlobal. He has been teaching dentists of all ages in various hands-on courses, both live and cloud-based, for over 15 years. He has over 40 hours of lecture content published online.
In 2022, he completed the requirements for his implant fellowship with ASID and the ICOI.
He has also written a book on dental photography and mentors over 500+ dentists worldwide in all aspects of their dental careers.
