The ‘Young Dentist of the Year’ Award is a new competition by RipeGlobal that will see dentists from all over the world compete to become the ‘Young Dentist of the Year’.
This competition aims to promote clinical excellence and build a worldwide community of dentists delivering better patient results early in their career. We also want to help young dentists develop and pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations so they fast track their way to becoming thought leaders in the industry.
You could win:

Judging Criteria
1. Authenticity
We are real about the ups and down, difficulties and the challenges of growing a career in dentistry. We are as interested in the setbacks you overcome as the successes you gained. What is your background, where did you come from, where do you live, what does your day-to-day look like?
2. Engagement
To improve the profession, and make a big impact, you will need to lead, engage, and communicate. Good communication, and the ability to be engaging on camera, is crucial in the modern world. Consider how you will captivate your audience and the judges with your personality and knowledge (i.e. strong voice, excitable, humorous, educational, helpful).
3. Vision & Impact
We want to empower those who wish to achieve great things in the dental industry outside or day-to-day patient treatment. Consider where you would like to be in ten years time and what steps you are/will take to achieve this. What impact do you wish to have on the profession?
4. Clinical Excellence
For dental students and newly graduated dentists we don’t expect you to be masters at dentistry but to have a certain extent of skill and know-how. Round 2 and 3 of this competition will be testing your hands-on skills, while still evaluating the above criteria.
Steps to Enter & Competition Rounds
Entry Conditions
You must be a dentist who is either:
- in their final year of dental school/university
- a maximum of 5 years out of dental school/university
Round 1
Film and produce a video to be posted on Instagram & TikTok.
- This should be no longer than 90 seconds long.
- Should tell your story using the above judging criteria.
- Is to be filmed in portrait mode (vertical).
- Aim to film this in an interesting location that adds to your story and the aesthetics of the video.
- Collaborate with RipeGlobal on Instagram when posting.
- Use these tags in the post: #ripeglobal #youngdentistoftheyear #fellowshipinrestorativedentistry
- Tag at least 5 other young dentists in the caption, encouraging them to enter the competition.
- Contain the ‘Dentist of the Year Logo’ somewhere in the video.
- This video can be formatted however you like.
You may enter more than once.
12 winners will be selected from Round 1 based on the below category:
- 3 participants from Euro/Africa time zone
- 3 participants from Asia/Pacific time zone
- 3 participants from Americas time zone
- 3 participants from Overall Most Viral Videos
Round 2
This round will have a hands-on component where the 3 winners from each category in Round 1 will verse each other. One person from each category will be chosen as the winner and move forward into Round 3.
Round 3
The final four contestants will compete in three rounds of hands-on exercises, with one person being eliminated each round. These hands-on exercises will not be revealed until each round starts.
