Hand Finishing Posterior CEREC: From Drab to Fab
with Dr Michael Frazis
CEREC dentistry gets a bad name in some circles because some dentists don't understand that the system is just a tool to achieve a result.
Even if you send your work out to a lab they will mill your crown out and then proceed to hand finish it to improve aesthetics.
We expect a certain level of realism from our ceramics from the lab and we hold this high standard for ourselves with our anterior work. When it comes to posterior teeth we turn a blind eye to the appearance.
Hand skills are practised and honed with repetition and while an upper second molar doesn't need perikymata and tinted fissures the hand skills you learn in doing them will accelerate the rest of your dentistry.
